Welcome to the Arkansas City church of Christ
Arkansas City church of Christ
The Arkansas City church of Christ are a loving people who believe the
scriptures are inspired of God. And specifically, we believe that the New
Testament contains all truth for us today - no more is forthcoming. It is our
aim to do all things according to the New Testament pattern. It is our only
spiritual guide.
As Christians we are filled with joy and peace. We believe that all who,
believe in Christ, repent of their sins, confess the name of Jesus, and are
baptized (immersed) for the remission of sins, will find this same peace and
joy.
We worship God “in Spirit and in truth.” Each Lord’s day (Sunday) we pray
(1 Cor. 14:15), give an offering (1 Cor. 16:1,2), partake of the Lord’s Supper
(1 Cor. 11:), listen to God’s word being preached, and sing spiritual songs
(Eph. 5:19). Our singing is acapella (without musical instruments). Since the
New Testament scriptures teach that we are to sing only (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:
15), we believe this is the purest form of worship.Our works include teaching
the gospel to lost sinners (Mk. 16:15-16), building up the church spiritually
(Rom. 15:), and being benevolent toward those in need (James).
We strive to live holy, moral lives, and let the example of Jesus live within us.
